Me: Yeah.... it's very faint.... must be the construction work
outside.
Prof: Oh okay.... let's get back to the experiment.....
*five minutes later*
Prof: Hmm.... do you smell that again?
Me: Hmm.... barely.
Prof: (totally calm) Oh look - I think one of your fluorescent
tubes is shorting out.
Me:
